OVER-50s tried their hand at pigeon toes, paddle turns, shimmies and sailor shuffles as a country and western dance craze hit an Oxford estate.
Line Dancing came to Blackbird Leys with free classes for the over-50s to help them stay in shape. Instructor Paula Pym said: “They learned a dance called the Electric Slide and the Waltz Across Texas.
“It’s great fun, it was the biggest crowd we’ve had. It’s great for exercise, co-ordination and memory.”
The monthly sessions are run by local charity Leys CDI’s Clockhouse Project, at the Clockhouse in Long Ground, Greater Leys.
