Two rivers were placed on flood alert in Oxfordshire following heavy rain.

The River Ray was placed on alert from Shipton Lee to Islip, including Ludgershall, Blackthorn and Murcott.

The Environment Agency said river levels were rising slowly in the River Ray and were expected to spill out into the floodplain in the Lower Arncott area later today. No property flooding is expected.

Also on alert is the River Thame, and the Chalgrove Brook.

The weather forecast is to expect locally heavy rain this morning, which will clear through the morning to leave a dry day. Sunday is also forecast to be dry.
