Police are appealing for information after ducks were stolen from the garden of a property in Oxford.

Thieves have entered the garden of the property, which is off Horspath Road, sometime between 1.30pm and 2.30pm on December 18 and stole three Cayuga ducks, worth more than £100, similar to those pictured.

PC Rebecca Froud said: “These animals are not capable of flying, so the owner knows they haven’t simply flown away.

“Also, the theft occurred during the recent heavy snow, and footprints were found coming into and leaving the garden from the nearby Shotover nature reserve.

“These animals are very distinctive and were much loved pets of their owners. I would urge anyone who knows of their whereabouts, or who knows anything about their theft, to come forward and speak to me as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information should contact PC Froud via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505. Alternatively, you can contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
