SOME of Oxford’s hottest young artists have taken over a gallery in the city centre.
Twenty-seven county artists, aged between 18 and 25, have launched an exhibition showcasing their work at the Jam Factory in Park End Street.
The exhibition, Home, Again is the third set up by Oxford-based Creative Collective, the brainchild of artist and photographer Rishi Mullett-Sadones.
Mr Mullett-Sadones, 20, from Cowley, said: “Creative Collective is keen to support Oxfordshire-based artists of all calibre – be it a hobby, life-long dream or future career.
“It’s a fantastic platform for young artists to exhibit in professional gallery spaces.”
Among those exhibiting is former Cherwell School student James Chen-Wishart.
The 23-year-old, of Holywell Road, said: “Creative Collective is fulfilling a service by providing young people with places to exhibit. I believe it’s not just contributing to Oxford’s art scene but helping to establish it.
“They could have set up in London where exhibiting is routine practice for young artists, but the fact they have returned to Oxford for a second year shows real devotion to the cultural development of this city and its people.”
The exhibition runs until the end of January.
