CHAMPION Russian ice skaters have turned an Oxford theatre into a wintry Never Never Land.
Peter Pan on Ice began last night at the New Theatre in George Street and runs until Sunday.
The classic J M Barrie tale has been adapted for a specially-built rink on stage by the Russian Ice Stars company, which visits Oxford each year.
Theatre spokesman Diana Hackett said: “It’s the classic story of Peter Pan but performed on ice by world-class ice skaters, all set to music.
“They’ll be riding penny farthings across the ice and doing some quite mindboggling aerial stunts.
“It’s a proper family show. Kids will be enthralled by the story and adults will be able to appreciate the athleticism of the performers. But if you are coming along do bring a coat as it the ice means it will be a bit chilly in the theatre.”
Tickets are available at newtheatreoxford.org.uk or 0844 8471585.
