A robber walked into Barclays Bank, in High Street, just after 2pm yesterday and demanded staff put cash into a bag, before leaving with an unknown amount of money.
Police believe he was carrying a sawn-off shotgun, and was wearing a balaclava and a green coat.
He was thought to have left in a white Ford Transit van which officers think was found partially burned out in St Leonard’s Church hall car park nearby.
Police believe the robber then left on a motorcycle.
Police spokesman Chris Kearney said no shots were fired and no-one was hurt.
Anyone with information should call police on 08458 505505.
