Police are appealing for information following a series of burglaries in the Vale of White Horse over the past week.

The first burglary was at an address in Blandy Avenue, Southmoor, between 10.20am and 9.10pm on December 30.

Burglars forced their way into the house and stole a Toshiba laptop and a diamond and ruby encrusted gold ring.

The second burglary was at and address in Norwood Avenue, Southmoor, between 1pm on December 30 and 10.30am on December 31.

Burglars forced their way into the property through a back door and stole items, including an Xbox 360, video games and jewellery.

The next burglary in the series was at a house in Ferndale Street, Faringdon, between 4pm on December 30 and midnight on December 31.

Burglars smashed their way into the property and stole electrical items, including an iPod Nano, two laptops and a Canon digital camera.

Police said details of the last burglary had previously been released, but at the time it was not thought to be part of a series. It was at a property in High Street, Stanford in the Vale, between 1pm on December 29 and 1.45pm on Sunday.

Burglars forced their way into the property and stolen a Canon Rebel digital camera, Canon camera lenses and filters, and a camera stand.

Dec Con Fran Griffin said: “We believe that these burglaries are all linked because of the method that has been used in each break-in and the timing and proximity of the break-ins to one another.

“I would like to hear from anyone who was in this area who may have seen or heard anything suspicious. Perhaps you saw a car driving around the area? Or perhaps you saw someone that was hanging around that you felt was acting suspiciously?

“I would urge anyone with information to come forward as soon as possible and help us with our investigation.”

Anyone with information should contact Det Con Griffin via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505. Alternatively, you can contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
