WEATHER experts last night warned there may be more snow on the way across Oxfordshire later today.
Met Office spokesman John Hammond said that light snow could fall in the county from this afternoon.
Temperatures look likely to drop to freezing overnight.
Rain and sleet showers are expected to continue tomorrow, before a warmer weekend with sunny intervals and light rain showers.
But Mr Hammond said there was unlikely to be a repeat of December’s heavy snow, when conditions caused major disruption to road, rail and air travel.
He added: “We are likely to see a few bits of sleet and snow during the afternoon, particularly in the south of the county.
“It could snow from time to time, but it will be more like sleet.”
Temperatures are unlikely to climb above 8C in the next few days and forecasters said that strong winds tomorrow and on Saturday would make it feel much colder.
Meteorologists said last month was the coldest December for 120 years. It was also the coldest individual calendar month since February 1986.
