The project to create a wildlife haven around Thrupp Lake, in Radley, has missed out on £50,000 of National Lottery funding after a public vote.
The Northmoor Trust wanted to regenerate the area for walkers, cyclists and disabled people if it won the cash in the lottery’s People’s Millions competition.
But more viewers of Meridian Tonight voted for the cash to go to a music therapy project in Dorset and Hampshire.
