MUSIC fans will have the chance to see Amy Winehouse’s father Mitch perform a hour set in Oxford on Monday.
The former taxi driver turned jazz and swing crooner will perform at the Living Room in the Oxford Castle complex.
He said the family’s love of singing stretched back through generations, but acknowledged his daughter’s fame had opened doors.
He told the Oxford Mail: “I have been singing my whole life but I never had the opportunity to do it professionally.
“I have been given the opportunity now and obviously if I wasn’t Amy’s Dad I wouldn’t be here.
“She’s obviously one of the greatest vocalists in the world and a fantastic singer so it would be pretty unfair to compare us, but I do what I do quite well.”
Mr Winehouse released his debut album Rush of Love in May.
His show features him and a pianist.
