THE winner of this week’s Oxford Mail face in the rugby crowd competition is 22-year-old student Aldo Raine.
He was in the stands watching Oxford University take on the Cardiff Blues at Iffley Road on Monday night and won £75 when our photographer picked him out.
He is captain of the rugby team at the city’s other University, Oxford Brookes.
Mr Raine said: “We play Oxford University in four weeks’ time and although it’ll be a tough match, we’ve won our last four games and the ball is definitely rolling.”
The estate management student, from Worcester, said he had found about his win through a friend.
He said: “Basically a friend congratulated me on my win and I just said ‘what win?’ “It was superb though, waking up on a Thursday morning to find out you’ve won £75. There can’t be many better ways to start your day.”
We will be running our rugby Face in the Crowd promotion at Oxford University’s next four home games.
The next match is at against Sale at Iffley Road on Monday.
