CHILDREN are being urged to sing their hearts out at a music day dedicated to youngsters.

Children aged three to six will spend the day at St Edburg’s Church, Bicester, learning a short musical based on a Bible story.

The day will culminate with a performance for family and friends.

The event, on Saturday, November 20, from 9.45am to 3pm, has been organised by St Edburg’s director of church music Gillian Warson as part of an initiative to get children involved in singing and music.

Mrs Warson said “Our aim is to offer children from across the town the opportunity to learn a simple musical and have a lot of fun singing together.

“I’ve personally organised several days like this in the past and know that performing a new work in front of their family and friends should prove a lovely experience, especially in our town’s magnificent 906-year-old landmark building.”

The church recently reopened after a £270,000 makeover, which included rewiring, new lighting and a modern audio visual system.

Places costs £5 per child. Call Gillian Warson on 01869 324645 or email gillianwarson@lineone
