Sir – Last night, as most evenings, I was walking down Morrell Avenue. I was passed by about 60 car drivers, 80 per cent of whom were breaking the 20mph speed limit.
A harmless pedestrian, I do not want to be at risk of being killed or injured by one of these people.
Could the police please start a crusade, perhaps confiscating the cars instead of just issuing speeding tickets?
I know that this is a small offence in the great scheme of things, but it can lead to ruined lives for both the injured and the driver involved in the injury. But — I forgot — there are no speed cameras left in Oxfordshire. With apologies to Nigel Clarke and his letter last week about a ‘Cycle crusade needed’.
