Angela Swann’s recent article for the Oxford Mail’s travel section about the highs and lows of travelling through France by train was eye-opening.
Like many people, I have always assumed that public transport in continental Europe is far superior than the sometimes shabby service we have to put up with. Clearly this is not always the case.
Furthermore, recent events in France emphasise that strikers and rioters can cause mayhem for the public, regardless of investment.
We should count our blessings.
