Average Oxfordshire house prices dropped 0.4 per cent last month, according official figures from the Government's Land Registry — the first monthly fall since May 2009.
The average price is now £240,926, compared with £214,287 at the height of the property slump last spring. Since then, prices rose each month until September.
The index, based on all sales completed last month, shows Oxfordshire prices have risen 8.3 per cent since this time last year.
