FOOTBALLERS and their coaches will tour pubs in Blackbird Leys by bicycle tomorrow to try to raise £1,000 for their club.
The Oxford Blackbirds FC sponsored ride begins at the Priory pub, in Grenoble Road, at 11am, cycling to the Bullnose Morris, in Cuddesdon Way, and the Blackbird, in Blackbird Leys Road.
Between 50 and 70 young footballers are expected to take part. They hope pub regulars will dig deep to support them.
The future of the club is in doubt after city council grants, which the club had relied on to cover expenses, dried up.
