I READ at the weekend that this country will have to pay £43bn in interest on our debt over the next year.
I just wonder if Chancellor George Osborne has thought about applying for a Tesco credit card. I noticed in the money pages of the same newspaper that they are offering 0 per cent interest for the next 13 months.
If Mr Osborne also believed the old saying that charity begins at home he could cut out the £12bn we give away on overseas aid and the £8bn to the European Union, which would be a big step in the right direction.
