AN ALL-WEATHER play area opened at Little Oak playgroup at Queen’s Dyke School in 1990 – and as the first picture shows, children lost no time in using it. The playgroup committee raised £2,000 to pay for the work.

Philippa Gee and Ros Bennett, in the second picture, gave Witney Community Hospital’s open day and fete in 1986 an extra lift by selling colourful balloons. The event, organised by the hospital’s League of Friends, raised a record £1,200.

Four students, who took part in a health studies course at West Oxfordshire College in 1990, are seen in the third picture studying a model of the DNA molecule. Christine Field, 18, Alison Paish, 26, Sonia Sherrell, 18, and Caroline Chaundy, 18, are pictured with lecturer Gordon Buchanan.
