Florence Park progressed to the second round of the Blue/Green/Yellow Cup with what eventually turned out to be a comfortable 9-1 victory over Marston Saints. From the start of the match, Florence Park showed that little bit more commitment, battling hard to win every ball. They got their early reward when the unfortunate Rohan Ram headed into his own net trying to defend a corner. Minutes later though Rohan produced a magnificient goalline header to keep out a fine shot following another corner.
Florence Park continued to win the 50:50 balls, and from another won just on the halfway line fed a perfect through ball to Naseer El-Hosny to score the second. A fine strike from Twariq Yosuf from the edge of the box saw Florence Park go 3-0 up, before Ben Joseph pulled a goal back for Saints just before half-time.
Any hopes of a Marston Saints comeback disappeared at the start of the second half, when Zion Yearwood scored the 4th for Florence Park. Further goals followed a regular intervals, with 2 from Declan Powell-Quince, second goals for both Naseer El-Hosny and Twariq Yosuf and finally a penalty from Callum Rawlings, after the referee spotted a handball at the edge of the area.
