A couple of weeks ago the city council met and confirmed its intention to close Temple Cowley Pool even though it thinks the funding to build the new pool at Blackbird Leys will not be available.
Now, more than two weeks on, they say the full council will meet in the Town Hall tonight, when the 10,000-plus signature petition to save the pool will be discussed.
Having already ignored public opinion and confirmed the closure, why now waste time and money talking about the petition?
Could there be an alternative motive to this decision?
Are the councillors looking for a way of doing another U-turn, or is this just another way of covering up their lack of respect for the public?
Only time will tell.
