THERE was good reason for celebration at Tackley Primary School in 1976 when new buildings were opened after a disastrous fire caused £40,000 damage. Children are seen carrying furniture from the temporary buildings, where classes had been held.
Donkey rides were one of the attractions at the village gala day in 1974. Stephanie Crawford, nine, and her brother, Marcus, four, are seen in the second picture preparing for a ride on Smokey Joe.
In the third picture, budding carpenters are seen displaying their handiwork at the primary school woodwork bench in 1966.
