McLaren's history will come alive in a McLaren Racing exhibit, headlined by Ayrton Senna’s MP4/4 at the Autosport International racing car show.

The iconic MP4/4 will be the centrepiece of the McLaren feature at Autosport International, held at the NEC, Birmingham, on January 13-16, 2011.

Vodafone McLaren Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton was recently given a chance to drive the car that brought the first world championship title to F1 legend Senna: “I love this car, it’s amazing,” said Lewis. “I just feel so blessed: I dreamed my whole life of driving this car.”

In addition to the MP4/4, the exclusive exhibit will showcase several remarkable historic McLaren cars, as well as the much-anticipated new road car, the MP4-12C.

The multiple F1 World Championship-winning British team used more than 40 years worth of experience in racing to develop the MP4-12C, a 3.8 litre V8 supercar which will be available in 2011.

“We are proud to showcase a collection of McLaren’s successful heritage in Formula One and I’m sure that fans will find our line-up very impressive,” said Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Team Principal Martin Whitmarsh. “Autosport International is a great event and we are happy to contribute to it.”

“It is a privilege to have such a prestigious brand as Vodafone McLaren Mercedes putting on a remarkable feature for our visitors. The McLaren display will be a real highlight,” said Autosport International Show Director Ian France.

In addition to the McLaren feature, show visitors will get the chance to see performance cars as part of PistonHeads: The Performance Car Show, as well as race cars from a wide range of popular motor racing series, including Formula One.

Fans will also have the opportunity to see well-known drivers, celebrities and racing personalities, including long-time F1 commentator Murray Walker and former F1 driver Martin Brundle.

Eentertainment will be provided in the Fifth Gear Live Action Arena, hosted by TV presenter and current British Touring Car Drivers’ Championship leader Jason Plato, of Oxford and racer turned motoring personality Tiff Needell. Tickets for Autosport International 2011 are on sale, which include a reserved seat in the Fifth Gear Live Action Arena with every show ticket.
