Ninety-five new homes, including two-bedroom apartments and three-, four-, five- and six-bedroom family homes are to be built in Bicester.

Bovis Homes will start work on the Kingsmere site, which is near the Bicester Village shopping centre in the south west of the town, next year.

The company was behind the Bovis Park development in the town ten years ago.

Anne Wicklow, of Bovis Homes, said: “It’s very exciting to be a part of the new Kingsmere project and it’s also good to be providing new homes back in Bicester again.

“This is a great location, both in terms of the development itself and the town as a whole. Kingsmere will provide a contemporary living environment with landscaping, recreational land, play parks, open spaces with cycle paths and pedestrian walkways, plus new facilities including schools, a business park, health services, local shops and a community centre.

“The Bovis Homes development within it will provide a choice of well-planned new homes with the quality design and build and all inclusive specification for which Bovis Homes is renowned.”

The new Bovis houses will be part of a bigger development at Kingsmere, launched in July this year, which will provide 1,500 new homes on the 287-acre site.

The project includes a £40m spend on local infrastructure, including a new bypass, public transport and education services.
