A CAMPING gas canister caught fire and exploded at a house in Chilton, near Didcot, after a dog jumped up in the kitchen and turned the cooker on.
Firefighters were called to Elderfield Road at 3.20pm on Sunday.
Watch manager Andy Beal, based in Didcot, said the cooker set fire to some clothing which in turn caused the canister of butane gas to explode.
Mr Beal said: “Although this incident resulted in extensive damage to the property, thankfully no-one was injured, and the dog escaped its misdemeanour unscathed.”
