MUGGERS struck three times in East Oxford, Littlemore and Rose Hill in little over 24 hours.

A 23-year-old man had his wallet stolen after he was pushed to the ground in Jeune Street, off Cowley Road, by two robbers at about 2.15am on Sunday.

Then, at about 6.30pm on the same day, three teenagers approached a 16-year-old boy in an alleyway off Barns Road Bridge in Littlemore. They asked him for directions before assaulting him and attempted to steal his bag.

The main offender was white, in his late teens, of medium build, with short cropped brown hair and blue eyes.

He had bloodshot eyes and was wearing a grey hooded top.

At about 11.20pm on Saturday, two 15-year-old girls got off a bus in Rose Hill and were approached by a group of teenagers in Ashurst Way. They asked them for money which the girls refused to hand over.

One of them was then assaulted.

Dc Steve Martin, of Oxford’s robbery team, said: “We don’t believe the robberies are connected.

“Although these incidents are concerning, robbery is down 41 offences compared to this time last year.”
