A FLASHER who exposed himself in the grounds of a care home has been given an antisocial behaviour order forcing him to keep his clothes on in public.

Craig Elmslie was caught in the garden of the home performing a sex act in the moonlight at 3.20am.

One member of staff at the centre – which cares for adults with learning difficulties and who cannot be named for legal reasons – spotted the 24-year-old, of Larkhill Road, Abingdon, and called police. The woman said: “He rang the doorbell on the previous Sunday night, but it was quite windy so I had a look around and could not see anything. But then it happened again on Thursday.

“He was crouched down behind the shed and I rang police — he just exposed himself and started to (perform a sex act).”

She added: “The people staying in the house were totally unaware, thankfully. The young lady who sleeps in the back room was away that week, which was very fortunate.

“It makes you feel unsettled. With every little noise now you get uneasy.

“I think it is a bit sick, but so long as he is on the sex offenders’ register – I just hope he has learnt his lesson and does not come back.”

At Didcot Magistrates’ Court last month, Elmslie was convicted of the December 3 exposure.

He was given a four-month prison sentence, suspended for a year, and given a five-month 7pm-7am curfew.

Elmslie must pay £100 compensation to the staff member, £300 court costs and sign the sex offenders’ register for seven years.

The terms of his two-year Asbo state he must not “be in a state of undress in any public place; expose his genitals to the public; make lewd gestures or go within 100 yards of the scene of the offence”.
