CREATIVE juices were flowing in one north Oxfordshire for its annual scarecrow festival.
For the fourth year running the gauntlet was thrown down to Wardington residents to use a scarecrow to depict a song.
Among the 14 creations who took to the village streets at the weekend was a scarecrow wearing a multi-coloured coat, with an alarm clock, sleeping bag and dream catcher by his side, inspired by Any Dream Will Do, from Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
An off-beat scarecrow took the form of a yellow submarine, inspired by the Beatles song.
Organiser Jane Meredith said: “The standard of scarecrows just goes up every year.
“The yellow submarine was brilliant.”
