The summer reds & rosé case costs £92 and includes three bottles each of the following four wines.
Domaine de Gouyat Rosé 2009, Bergerac: Serge Dubard makes this excellent rosé from his 73-hectare vineyard on the right bank of the Dordogne in the western part of Bergerac. Made primarily from cabernet sauvignon, the wine is clean, fresh and dry with notes of fruit salad and summer fruits — delicious.
Turkey Flat Rose 2008, Australia: This is a full bodied fruit driven Australian rose made from a blend of grape varieties. Just off dry with flavours of ripe berry fruit and a hint of spice, the wine is perfect for salads and white meats — very refreshing.
Beaujolais l’Or des Pierres 2008, France: Loron’s 50 hectares of vineyards have provided the grapes for this classic purple-tinged French-café-style Beaujolais which is light, juicy and really refreshing with very bright vibrant raspberry fruit. Try it slightly chilled with white meats, cheese and charcuterie.
Côtes du Rhône Domaine des Gravennes 2007, France: Made mainly from the grenache grape variety, this spicy and fruity Côtes du Rhône is medium bodied with clean redcurrant and roasted fruit and is ideal with most meats and cheeses — a perfect picnic wine in fact.
