A series of seasonal recipe cards has been launched by Millets Farm Centre at Frilford, near Abingdon, in partnership with award-winning chef Mark Chandler, of the White Hart at Fyfield.

The recipes created by Mark showcase either a fruit or vegetable which is currently in season and grown by Millets Farm Centre. The first two recipe cards focus on asparagus and summer berries.

“We thought it would be a good idea to inspire our customers to have a little culinary fun and encourage them to make a dish that focuses on seasonal produce such as strawberries or broad beans,” said Nigel Carter, of Millets Farm Centre. “At the White Hart, we are passionate about using fresh seasonal produce with local provenance, so the Millets Farm recipe cards are a great way for us to share our enthusiasm with others,” said chef Mark. “Millets already supply the restaurant so it was a natural step for us to create these easy-to-follow recipes for their customers to try out at home.”

Asparagus and parmesan tart, and a gratin of marinated berries are the first recipes, and focus on the seasonal produce available at Millets. The recipe cards are free and available from Millets Farm shop and can also be downloaded from the website www.milletsfarmcentre.com
