YOU would think that those leaving the Armed Forces would be able to walk into jobs in all areas of life.

After all, how many job applications do you see which ask for calmness under pressure, an ability to work as part of a team and a disciplined nature?

But the truth is many servicemen and women find it difficult to settle in to Civvy Street – particularly if they end up there due to injury, or military cutbacks, or family commitments.

Luckily, organisations like the Hamilton Project are at hand.

By helping former soldiers into jobs, the project provides a valuable service to the community.

So, a big well done to the project on its Royal British Legion award.
