STEVE Drywood, the deputy headteacher of Wheatley Park School, has died a year after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease.
Tributes have been paid to Mr Drywood, 54, at the school in Holton where he was deputy head since 1987, following his death on Sunday, May 14.
Wheatley Park headteacher Kate Curtis said: "Losing Steve Drywood is a great blow to us all at the school.
"We will remember him as a perceptive, intelligent and generous man, totally dedicated to the learning and welfare of young people.
"He will be very sadly missed. We will not forget him, and his impact on the school will be felt for many years to come."
Mr Drywood was a teacher at Peers School before arriving at Wheatley Park School.
The funeral was held on Wednesday at Oxford Crematorium.
