This year's May Day closure of Magdalen Bridge in Oxford is described as a success, with only a few jumpers and no injuries (Oxford Mail, May 2).
However, next year May Day will not be a Bank Holiday.
This means that if the bridge is closed again, I and hundreds of other people who live east of the bridge will have problems getting to work.
So I am asking those who will decide whether to close the bridge next year to consider the inconvenience of many Oxford inhabitants against the interests of a small minority of selfish idiots.
If the bridge is to be closed next year, may I suggest that everyone who will face problems caused by the closure writes and objects to the traffic order when it is published?
