DEPLETED Henley completed their Mational League Division 2 league campaign with a 34-20 defeat away to second-placed Waterloo.
Hawks arrived without three key players, Mitch Burton, their most reliable kicker, Chris Simmons their leading try-scoring wing and lock Matt Payne, and with wing Chaska Loubers already crocked, they took the field with two scrum halves Mat Britton and Steve Drake on the wings.
During the game they lost James Gaunt, their first choice scrum half, centre Dave Tibbott and skipper James Winterbottom, so they did well to make Waterloo fight hard for their victory.
Hawks' tries came from Luke Burns, Adam Slade and Tibbott, while Slade added a conversion and Barry Reeves a penalty.
