A violent yob banned from an Oxford estate for the rest of his life has now been restricted from entering his home.

David Reid, 37, was given an Antisocial Behaviour Order (Asbo) by magistrates last month banning him from setting foot in Blackbird Leys the first lifetime ban made in Oxford.

The ruling was extended to include Greater Leys at Oxford Magistrates' Court yesterday after he was arrested on suspicion of breaching the original order.

District Judge Brian Loosely altered bail conditions which allowed Reid to enter Greater Leys to live with his mother in Green Hill on two charges of theft, a public order offence and the breach of the Asbo conditions.

Reid has now been bailed to a separate address in East Oxford and the Asbo has been extended.

Solicitors acting for Read have lodged an appeal against the restrictions.

Mr Loosely told Reid: "You are banned from the whole of Blackbird Leys and Greater Leys under the terms of the Asbo because bail conditions which give you the right to be there have been taken away.

"In no uncertain terms you are banned until your appeal is heard. If you are caught there again you've had it."

The lifetime Asbo imposed in March also bans Reid from acting in a manner which causes harassment or distress in Oxford city, from threatening, intimidating or swearing at any member of the public and carrying a knife in public without an excuse.

Breaching any parts of the court order could see him jailed for five years.

Reid, who was charged with breaking his Asbo following an incident in Cowley Road, Oxford, on Wednesday, pleaded not guilty yesterday.

Mr Loosely bailed Reid to appear at Oxford Magis- trates' Court on May 16 for the alleged breach of the Asbo and a public order offence from March, on condition he resides at an address in Boundary Brook Road, East Oxford, and stays out of Cowley Road, Oxford, unless on a bus.

He was also bailed on two counts of theft to appear in court on May 8. He was ordered not to contact witnesses.

The extension to the Asbo, which includes a ban from entering Greater Leys, will last until the current court proceedings are completed.
