Sir, Patients and their visitors across England are being asked for their views on hospital bedside telephone services in one of the largest public surveys of its kind.

Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Forums, independent watchdogs who represent the public's views, are looking into the costs associated with bedside telephone services after receiving complaints from patients and their friends and family about the high charges for calls to hospitals of services such as Patientline (in most cases 49p per minute and 39p per minute off peak).

The Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals PPI Forum would like to hear from people in the community who have experience using bedside telephone service in the John Radcliffe, Churchill, Radcliffe or Horton Hospitals and what they think of the services and charges. Please either ring: Jacquie Pearce-Gervis (01993 886643), e-mail: Anna Capel-Davies (annacapel-davies@oacppih.org) or write to Jacquie Pearce-Gervis, c/o OACPPIH, 5 Bankside, Hanborough Business Park, Long Hanborough, OX29 8LJ. We look forward to hearing from you.

Jacquie Pearce-Gervis,Chairman on behalf of the Forum, Oxford
