As a lifelong supporter of Oxford United, the current situation is very painful to watch.

I live in Sydney, Australia, where, as you can imagine, there isn't a great deal of news on Oxford's situation.

For months, there has been only one thought. Every morning, I long to see the headline on the thisisunited website . . . 'Kassam's gone'.

It wasn't always this way. I truly thought he had come to our rescue when he bought the club and got permission for the new stadium.

It's only recently I've found out that the cost of the new stadium was less than he got for selling the Manor. He made money for himself out of the deal.

The resistance to Kassam seems to have taken a long time to boil over. Maybe the fans thought that lightning couldn't strike twice in the same place. I used to stand at the London Road end at the Manor Ground and remember signing the petition to get rid of Maxwell.

If Kassam has any heart at all (most Oxford fans would presume not), I pray he sells us to someone who has the best interests of the club in mind.
