Morrells of Oxford Sunday League: Goalkeeper Huw Evans was the hero for Cold Arbour as his crucial spot-kick helped them reach the semi-finals of the President's Cup with a thrilling 8-7 penalty shoot-out victory against Premier Division rivals Rover Blackbird.

Rover bossed the opening exchanges, taking an early lead through Paddy Malone, only for Arbour's Craig Bloomfield to level just before the break.

Arbour then took the lead through Jefferson Harriet with Rover's Sammy Gray equalising just before full time.

Arbour again went ahead when Terry Stockford rifled home a loose ball in the penalty box.

Again Rover fought back, with Shane Mitchell striking to send the tie into extra time.

In a thrilling finale that ended with both keepers Evans and Tony Williams going head to head, it was Evans who clinched victory on the 22nd penalty after keeping out his opposite number's spot-kick.

Cold Arbour now meet Highfield in the semi-finals after they booked their place with a 2-1 victory against Rose Hill, thanks to a Wayne Blossom penalty double.

Blossom's first cancelled out Rose Hill's opener, before his second-half spot-kick after a disputed handball, sealed victory.

The other semi-finalists are Six Bells Kidlington who crushed Oxford Exiles 4-0.

They play the winners of the Wolvercote v Riverside tie which has been postponed until March 26.

Berinsfield reached the semi-finals of the Jack Sadler Cup after an 8-1 victory against Isis Tavern, with Mennon Calvo, Simon Brown and Barry Hayden scoring doubles. Paul Jones and Andy Sampson got the others.

In the other quarter finals, Barton United beat Cold Arbour Res 3-0, while Chalgrove surprisingly beat Oxford Yellows 1-0.

Oxford Black Boy will have to do it again after their clash with Club 66-86 was abandoned after the latter were left with just six fit players on the pitch.

Black Boy were leading 6-0 only for play to be halted in the 55th minute.

In the league, Nelson kept their Premier Division championship chances alive with a 3-0 victory over visitors Mansfield Road, Julian McCalmon, Michaes Herbert and Liam Gurdev netting for Nelson.
