Brian Talbot has been sacked as Oxford United manager, with Darren Patterson taking over as with immediate effect.
Brian Talbot leaves the club after less than one year in charge
Talbot joined the club in the summer of 2005. but after a bright start, results have gone against him, with just one win since the turn of the year.
Patterson, who makes the step up from youth team manager, has agreed a deal until the end of the 2006/7 season.
He takes charge of United for the first time against Bristol Rovers tomorrow night.
