A man went on trial at Oxford Crown Court yesterday accused of murdering a construction worker at a bed and breakfast.
Ceri Noble, 40, denies killing Kevin Lavelle at the Cricketers Arms, in Middleton Road, Banbury, in June 2004.
A jury was sworn in at the court yesterday (January 23) and the case against Noble, who lives in South Wales, adjourned until today.
Jurors were told they would be taken on a site visit to the Cricketers Arms tomorrow to see where Mr Lavelle, 29, suffered fatal head injuries.
The father-of-two, from Liverpool, was working at a building site in Warwick Road, Banbury, and staying at the pub when he was killed.
Noble was released on conditional bail until today. A court order was put in place banning the publication of details about his home address.
The trial continues.
