I was facinated by Tony Anchors's letter, Blair's police (Oxford Mail, January 16), in which he claims that an "illegal immigrant" queue-jumped him at the eye hospital.
I wonder how he knew that the person was 'illegal'. Perhaps the 'illegal' didn't show Mr Anchors his passport,
Or perhaps, like many people from southern Europe, the 'illegal' has swarthy skin, has lived here for 20 years and has British citizenship, or like many Brits abroad, speaks our language poorly.
No doubt, the 'illegal' cleverly duped the medical staff into early treatment (in spite of the 'illegal's poor English).
However, I am surprised that, with Mr Anchors's concerns, he didn't immediately inform the authorities of the 'illegal's' presence.
