Residents at New Marston, Oxford, take note. Remember the county council promising to accelerate the introduction of Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs)?
Well, thanks to pressure from the residents and their councillors, the process has begun. What do you need to do? Every household will receive a leaflet through the letterbox detailing all you need to know about CPZs.
At the back of this leaflet, there will be a form -- fill it in and return it as soon as you can. This form is your chance to have your say.
These letters will be arriving throughout February, so watch out for yours. We all know about the real parking problems we have in this area. We also know that a solution can't come a moment too early. This consultation is the first step in getting that solution. It's important that you let your voice be heard in the making of decisions.
If you do not receive your form or want advice, contact the county council direct or, better still, drop one of us a line.
This will take time but there are things you can do. There are sticky leaflets provided by the county council that you can affix to inconsiderately parked cars -- they are available at area committee meetings. You can report car registration numbers to Oxford Brookes University. Please keep the police informed if cars are parked illegally and obstructing pavements.
Northway residents shouldn't feel left out -- the county council is working hard to get their CPZs up and running, too. We will keep them informed when to expect your leaflets.
