A 30-year-old man died at the scene of a three-car collision near Faringdon yesterday (Monday).

The accident happened on the B4019 at Coleshill, near the entrance to Colleymore Farm, shortly before 7am.

A white Peugeot 306, a silver BMW Mini and a red Suzuki Vitara were involved in the crash.

The Peugeot driver who died has not yet been named. The drivers of the other vehicles, a man and a woman, were taken to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon.

The man suffered a broken hip while the woman sustained non life-threatening injuries.

Liz Rothschild, who lives at Colleymore Farm, was one of the first on the scene.

She said: "I did what I could to help. The road has a bend in it at the bottom of the hill and people drive too fast."

The road between Highworth and Faringdon was closed until 10.30am. Anyone with information should call police on 08458 505505.

A man has been arrested following a crash involving an Aston Martin sports car on the Berkshire Downs, near Wantage, in which a female passenger died.

The 24-year-old from the Wantage area died after the DB7 Vantage left the road near Lambourn, just after 8pm on Friday.

A 51-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs. He was released on bail pending further inquiries and is due to report back to the police on December 13.

The Aston Martin ploughed through roadside fences before coming to a stop in a field shortly after 8pm.

The dead woman's identity will not be released until she has been formally identified by the coroner.
