The argument drags on over whether or not an expensive safety barrier can be provided on Oxford's Eastern Bypass. Meanwhile, lives continue to be put at risk. What about a cheap, temporary solution, to protect us while the bureaucrats make their minds up?
Lay those interlocking concrete blocks end to end along the central reservation, similar to the ones used in motorway roadworks. Cheap and simple, no foundations to dig or underground cables to damage.
I even think there are one or two already in place protecting the repairs to the Shotover bridge supports. Just whistle up a few more and a crane. One night's work, job done. Less talk, more action!
