North Berks League: Defender Matt Thomas showed his skills as an attacker as he bagged a brace as Marcham reached the fourth round of the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup with a 4-1 drubbing of local rivals Steventon.

It was Thomas, who plays in central defence, who opened Marcham's account with a 30-yard free-kick into the far corner.

Although Paul Churchouse levelled for Steventon, Matt Launchbury put Marcham back in front.

Luke Westall then bagged No 3, before another free-kick from Thomas completed Marcham's tally.

Danny Curran hammered a hat-trick as Drayton beat Wantage Town Res 3-1.

Coleshill United crushed AFC Aldermaston 4-2, with goals from Lee Ruddle, Greg Higgs, Gary Sutton and Andy Lynham.

Kintbury Rangers Res took the lead at Division 2 rivals AFC Wallingford A, only to eventually lose 5-1.
