GLS Football Hellenic League - North Leigh 0, Milton Utd 1: Goalkeeper Rob Hamling was the hero as Milton United stunned the Premier Division leaders with a shock smash-and grab victory on Saturday.

The 18-year-old keeper produced a spectacular first-half display, saving at least seven attempts on goal, including two penalties.

Hamling denied North Leigh's Liam Hope and Joe Burnell, before bringing down the latter and conceding a penalty. After being yellow-carded, he dived low to his left to save Justin Miller's spot-kick.

Four minutes later, the referee pointed to the spot again as Hope was clumsily tackled from behind. This time Hamling finger-tipped Mark Dennis's kick onto the bar.

Then in the 54th minute, Milton's Andy Chilvers, put through by substitute Adam Beckett, fired home from the edge of the area.

Boosted by their shock lead, the tenacious Milton rearguard held firm, despite Martin Fox having received a broken nose.

Burnell had a shot blocked and then scrambled clear in an amazing scramble, before the same player's header thudded against the under- side of the bar.

Abingdon Town 1, Didcot Town 2: Striker Stuart Beavon scored a late winner as Didcot came from behind to beat a spirited Abingdon Town at Culham Road.

In the first league contest between the clubs for 17 years, Abingdon, who learned before the game that skipper Ross Tyler had left the club to join AFC Wallingford, took a shock lead after nine minutes.

Grant Goodall miscued a back-header to his keeper, and former Didcot player Laurence Hoey nipped in to loft the ball over Chris Webb to score his first goal for the club.

The setback galvanized Didcot and Ian Concannon was thwarted by a terrific save by Jon Beames.

The pressure continued after the break. Concannon struck the outside of a post and then saw a header cleared off the line.

Beames was then beaten in the 67th minute when Bradley Ward netted from the rebound after Beavon's inital shot had been blocked.

The Abingdon keeper saved further shots from Concannon and a volley from Ward as Didcot searched desperately for a winner.

Abingdon had two late chances to steal the points themselves through Pete Culley and Paul Jezzard.

The winner came in the 88th minute. Ward's shot bounced awkwardly in front of Beames and Beavon fired home.

Chipping Norton 2, Abingdon Utd 3: For the third game in a row Abingdon United had a man sent off, but they hung on for victory.

The visitors took the lead after ten minutes when Richard Peirson's shot was deflected, and Julian McCalmon helped it on to Mark Simms, who volleyed home.

Immediately after the restart, Micheas Herbert exchanged words with the referee following a free kick and received his marching orders, which left Abingdon with only ten men for 80 minutes.

Chippy equalised when a cross was punched away by Abingdon keeper Nick Heritage, and skipper Tim Jenkins fired home via a post.

On the half-hour, Abingdon regained the lead when Nathan Woodley headed a corner back across the face of the goal, and Peirson swept it home.

It was soon all level again as Dean Tremlett hit a long shot which flew into the top corner.

Heritage saved twice for Abingdon in the second half, before Adam Hamp smacked home the winner after good work from Ani Odhiambo.

However, it should have ended all square as Chippy's Dean Tremlett missed a late sitter.

Wantage Town 3, Slimbridge 1: Wantage made it two wins out of two against their Gloucestershire opponents

With the wind behind them in the first half, Wantage took a sixth-minute lead when Slimbridge captain Leon Sterling failed to clear Lee Davies's long throw and Adam Giles lashed the ball home.

Paul Day made it 2-0 in the 52nd minute, from a through ball by player manager Richie Bourne.

Slimbridge hit back when new signing, keeper Sean Purcell from Witney United, failed to claim a cross and Robbie Colwell tapped in at the far post.

But Day netted from the edge of the penalty area in the 89th minute to seal the victory

Witney United 2, Almondsbury 1: Witney recorded their first league victory at Marriotts Stadium since mid- September when they overcame a stubborn Almondsbury side.

Following a dull goalless first half, Witney striker Lee Keyes was hauled down 30 yards out from goal and Jamie Cook brilliantly fired the free-kick over the wall and in to the top corner to give them the lead.

After 67 minutes, a long kick by Witney keeper Paul Tassell was flicked on by Dean Treadwell to Keyes, who spun and lobbed keeper Tristan Westlake from 25 yards.

Almondsbury sub Bradley Clarke pulled a goal back but Witney held on.

Carterton 4, Hungerford 1: Carterton, who edged out Hungerford 1-0 last week in the FA Vase, had a more comfortable success in this league encounter.

However, Hungerford opened the scoring when Dean Flockton headed home from a free-kick in the 24th minute.

Mark Threlfall sparked Carterton's comeback by putting over a pinpoint cross for Kev Lewis to rifle home.

A few minutes later, James Mortimer-Jones hit a rasping free-kick which took a deflection past the stranded James Domm in the Hungerford goal.

Straight from the restart, Carterton won the ball back, and Mark Odom, wide on the right, picked out Lewis who headed home to make it 3-1 at the break.

It was not until the 72nd minute that Carterton added to their score when Threlfall's corner was bundled over the line by skipper Jamie Butt.

Kidlington 3, Fairford Town 1: Kidlington's improved form continued when they came from behind to beat Fairford to make it three games unbeaten.

The visitors opened the scoring just past the half-hour mark when Paul Hunt seized on a defensive howler to score from close range.

Kidlington's Luke Holden restored parity just before the break when the Fairford keeper was unable to keep out his far-post header.

After the break, with the wind at their backs, Kidlington ran Fairford ragged.

Veteran Garry Parker gave Kidlington the lead when he smashed home a shot from the edge of the box.

And Liam O'Callaghan made it 3-1 on 79 minutes after good work from Craig Bloomfield, Gerry Kapral and Holden.
