People in west Oxford were meeting tonight(Monday) to highlight their concerns about drug dealing and drug taking.

They are concerned about the growing number of incidents in the Oatlands recreation ground and Botley Park, off Botley Road.

Susanna Pressel, Labour city councillor for Jericho and Osney, said residents were concerned syringes and other drugs paraphernalia had been found, and that some deals were being done in daylight.

She said: "This has been simmering now for some time. One of the local police officers, PC Jan Warner, has been invited to a meeting at the West Oxford Community Centre tonight at 7.30pm.

"Residents will be able to explain their concerns to the officer."

Centre manager Richard Grant said that members of the public were welcome.
