I was shopping in an Oxford store during Freshers' Week. The store was offering 10 per cent off all goods.
Notices informed the students, and the store's assistants told them verbally.
As we approach Armistice Day and the festive season, would it not be possible for stores to extend the same generosity to war veterans and pensioners, during the run-up to Christmas? I should be interested to hear readers' views.
