PLAYER-MANAGER Kevin Brock has vowed to carry on - despite Oxford City's relegation from the Ryman League Premier Division.

The former Oxford United favourite took over as part of a new three-man management team with director of football Paul Lee and player-coach Peter Rhoades-Brown when Alan Thorne was sacked in October.

But the triumvirate have been unable to change City's fortunes - and now they have been relegated with still four games left.

Brock said: "It is very disappointing that we have got relegated. I feel things didn't go our way in the league.

"We haven't had much luck, but then they say you make your own luck. Basically we didn't score enough goals."

Despite going down, Brock added that he wanted to try and get City back up next season. "I want to manage as high as I can with Oxford City," he said.

"I have enjoyed it. I was not sure if I was cut out to do it, but I think we have improved things and proved we are a good side by getting through to the final of the league cup."
