PAINTER and decorator Darren Davison was found guilty of boosting his income by dealing in drugs.

Davison, 25, claimed that heroin found in a police raid on his house, in Leiden Road, Wood Farm, Oxford, belonged to his heroin addict step-son, Lee.

But after a three-day trial at Oxford Crown Court, he was convicted by a jury of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply. He will be sentenced on June 1 after reports.

The court was told that police found 24.5g of heroin, with a street value of £1,900, in a self-sealing bag on top of a ground floor extension at Davison's home, in November last year.

An officer who followed him into the bathroom said he saw "brown powder flushing down the toilet".

One of Davison's trainers was found on the extension roof beside the heroin. Inside his Jaguar car police found evidence of drug deals beside legitimate business documents, the court was told.

Davison, who has previous convictions for possessing drugs, was remanded in custody to await sentence.
