Shipton-under-Wychwood made it two wins out of two back in Division 1 of the Adkin Cherwell League with a comfortable six-wicket victory over Thame.

Choosing to bat first, visitors Thame owed much of their 166 all out to a fighting 77 from skipper Rob Brooks and 42 from Richard Carr as spinner Shaun Miller pegged them back with 5-41.

Shipton, winners over Rover last week, eased home on 169-4 with Paul Hemming contributing to the celebrations with 47 not out for his new club after dependable skipper Stewart Gillett had weighed in with 40.

Reigning champions Bicester and North Oxford also boast an unblemished record after trouncing Oxford by eight wickets at Chesterton.

Having been put in to bat, Oxford were bamboozled by the wiles of Arwyn Jones (6-30) and were only saved from an even heavier defeat by the dogged resistance of middle order batsmen Ed Baldock and Strange.

Bicester openers Andy Hobbs, fresh from playing cricket in Zimbabwe this winter, and Ian Hawtin both perished after tea, but Rob Williams and David Taylor saw the champions home at 81-2 -with some 35 overs to spare!

Duncan Mitchell hit a superb 109 as Banbury Twenty thrashed Aylesbury by 117 runs at the County Ground. Having won the toss and opted to bat, the visitors made sure of maximum batting points with 245-9.

In reply, Aylesbury were let down by some lacklustre batting and could only muster 128 with Gear making 52 as Mark Stanway (6-52) and Mike Wedderburn (3-61) ripped through their innings.
